In conjunction with LUEP event, Sunway Student Volunteers together with the students from Lancaster University became parents for a day on 4th of September 2014 (Saturday). We brought a bunch of Myanmar refugee kids to National Science Center.
Before we departed, a briefing was given to ensure the “parents” were aware of the do’s and don’t ‘s.
We felt very excited when we saw the bunch of cute kids walking towards us. One child was paired to one LU student or Sunway volunteer.
The Myanmar refugee kids were also excited as they had a chance to explore new things.
Parents’ explanation of the science knowledge enhanced kids’ learning process.
It’s lunch time at 12pm!
The day ended with joy and love. Although it was tiring to be a parent for a day, we felt happy when we could bring happiness to the kids. They had made our day! We hope to see these cheerful kids again.
