Trees For Life – March 2015

One fine Saturday morning in March 2015, 38 environmental-conscious SSV volunteers participated in Trees For Life organized by Majlis Perbandaran Shah Alam (MPSA) to reduce global warming phenomenon. We arrived at the venue, Taman Permainan Jalan Sastera, TTDI Shah Alam punctually by bus.

After registration, we had our breakfast which is prepared by organizer while listening to the talks and witnessed the opening ceremony of this event.

Eco Talk by Dr Jean Webber

At 8.30am, our SSV volunteers were separated into two groups: Group 3 and 4. We then began our volunteering jobs and finished our jobs around 10.30am.

After we had our lunch, we headed back to campus and reached around 12.00pm.

The event was held successfully with the great effort from our volunteers. We really appreciate that they treated the trees with love and care even though they were planting under the hot sun. Also, we hope that volunteers have a deeper understanding of the Mother Nature after listening to the eco talks by Dr Jean Webber and Ms. Rossiti Aishah Rashidi.

Let’s hope that our little trees will grow bigger in the near future! 😀
