SSV Health Week October 2015 was held from 26th till 28th of October 2015 from 9am to 5pm. Objective of health week was to raise awareness on health related issue on Sunway students and staff. We have invited Non Governmental Organizations [ National Kidney Foundation, Nasional Cancer Council, Breast Cancer Welfare Association, Pusat Perubatan UM, National Stroke Association of Malaysia and Malaysian Diabetes Association] to our university to raise awareness on stroke, diabetes, cancer and more. Volunteers were involved in 3 different job scopes which includes helping out at registration counter, answering queries about health week from Sunway staffs and students, as well as manning NKF merchandises booth. According to the report by NKF, we had successfully raised over RM 1500 from both donation box and selling of merchandises. As for MAKNA, we had donations of RM273.30.
Throughout these 3 days, we have successful raised awareness on health related issues such as stroke, cancer, diabetes and many more. A big thank you to all the passionate donors that we have over 200 packs of blood within 3 days for the national blood bank. Health is an important element in life, it is health that is the real wealth. Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live in.
