On the 9th of June 2018, 7 volunteers were chosen to help out with a fortnightly event, Food Bank Visit, set up by NGO called Roar of Hope.
The volunteers grocery shopped for 4 Myanmar refugee families where they bought food supplies that could last the families for an estimate of 2 weeks. The volunteers delivered the goods and also got to sit down and have proper conversations with the family members where they got to ask more in-depth questions as well as look around the houses & rooms to see their living conditions.
Most of the volunteers agreed that this event has opened their eyes even more to how severe the refugees’ needs are towards access of basic necessities, especially for the children who suffer from malnutrition. We hope to see the refugees will receive more help through events like this or an act of kindness by anyone as they seem very grateful for any resource they can get to counteract this problem.
