On the 21st of July, 40 of our volunteers head out to Sungai Janggut to help plant mangrove trees and pick up rubbish. We worked with Great Heart Charity Association and became a part of their Earth Warriors project which aims to safeguard the cleanliness of our environment. Dressed in our ever so fashionable yellow boots, we managed to plant 135 mangrove saplings. The volunteers worked hard to dig, plant and tie the saplings. Despite the heavy downpour at the end, we left with a sense of accomplishment and hope. The survival rate of these mangrove saplings is only 50%, but we know that every small initiative we take will account to a bigger outcome.
